One third of New Year fitness drives falter by February

An online survey of 2007 adults aged 18+ conducted by ICM Research on behalf of Arthritis Research UK between 19th – 20th December 2012 revealed that over a third (34%) of people who started an exercise regime in January 2012 either stopped or reduced the amount of exercise they were doing within just one month.

Only 33% of these people are still going with the exercise regime they started a year ago.

The most common reason for stopping or reducing the amount of exercise they were doing was simply because they lost interest (37%), followed by lack of time (33%) and the fact it’s too cold outside (32%).
