Guardian Poll – December 2011

The December ICM/Guardian survey reveals that the Conservatives retain a slight lead, with David Cameron himself performing strongly in the aftermath of the veto use in Europe. The Conservatives also appear to be reaping some benefit from straight talking on the economy, with Cameron and Osborne’s economic management again preferred to that of the Labour team.

Christmas is also here but there is little in the way of festive cheer for the nation’s prospects. The general public are spending less on Christmas, think Britain will be less prosperous this time next year, probably still stuck in a downturn, and will generally be more miserable!
