New research conducted by ICM for Sainsbury’s Travel Insurance reveals that Britons plan to spend £22.1 billion on holidays escapes in 2012.
The study shows that 45 per cent of Brits are planning to travel abroad for their holidays this year. Of these 13 per cent plan to stay with family and friends; 12 per cent want to book a self-catering break; 10 per cent are looking for all-inclusive holidays, and 17 per cent will stay in a hotel.
The survey also finds that a majority of Britons are saying that they want to spend less than they did in previous years, with 78 per cent looking for ways to save money on their holidays.
ICM surveyed 2021 British adults between 8th and 11th December 2011.
