45% of Brits consider Broadband to be ‘essential’

An ICM survey commissioned by Virgin Media shows that 45 per cent of British people consider broadband to be an essential part of their entertainment budget. Broadband is considered essential by more than any other option including mobile phones (28 per cent) and digital television (20 per cent).

In contrast trips to the cinema were considered ‘not at all important’ by 49 per cent of those surveyed and was seen by 21 per cent of respondents to represent very or fairly poor value for money, the highest score of all options presented.

ICM research surveyed 2005 via our Online Panel and Random Online Sampling between 14th – 16th December 2011.
