‘Geek chic’ cars becoming more stylish

An October poll of over 1,100 18-39 year olds has revealed that ‘geek chic’ cars are becoming more and more desirable. Respondents were asked to rank ten old cars and the Honda Civic (2001-2003) came out on top with the Ford Sierra and Ford Capri coming in a close second and third respectively. A fifth of respondents (Brits under 40) say that older cars are more stylish than the modern cars of today, almost as many believed that older cars are unlikely to depreciate in value and the same number also thought that older cars are better made and last longer. The list of 10 ‘geek-chic’ car models from the past 25 years was compiled by industry expert, Mike Brewer, presenter of ITV’s Pulling power and they were as follows:
Honda Civic 2001 -2003. Ford Sierra, Ford Capri, Land Rover Defender, Mercedes G wagon, Vauxhall Cavalier, Citroën DS, Austin Mini Countryman, Citroën DS, British Leyland Maxi
